The Southeastern Christian Association (SECA) is a nonprofit, human
rights organization based in Houston, Texas.  Its national president is
Dr. LeRoy Gillam.  One of his favorite sayings is that "the race is not
given to the swift nor the battle to the strong but to the one who endures
to the end."  We look forward to seeing you at the finish line.

South Eastern Christian Association is devoted to helping teenagers in
schools get through the stress of school life, whether it be as simple as
teaching kids how to react to students that have a belief that bullying is
"O.K", or teaching teachers and students alike how to handle students
that are deemed "at risk".  You will never hear Dr. Gillam use that term,
for he has a strong belief that if you label a student "at risk" you have
just created a student "at risk".  It sadly stands in many schools as the
acceptable term for kids who act outside the normal REALM of life.

SECA Houston Branch handled FOUR HUNDRED FIFTY criminal cases -
EIGHTY were for civil rights, twenty resulted in law enforcement officers
arrested and discharged from services, and two Judges were brought up
on charges in the year of our Lord 2004.

SECA does not discriminate against anyone because of their race, creed
or color.

Mr. C. Royal of Abilene, Texas - a man Dr.
Gillam has found to be a gentle giant in
the civil rights movement. Mr. Royal gave
all of himself to the movement, even
his health. Dr. Gillam says "if I can be
a tenth of a community and national
leader he is today. If I can say I
have the passion that he has even
after his stroke, then I will be able
to say God has smiled on me".
